Make your next entry-level hires with GoodWork.

Our flagship programme combines training, support and paid work placements for young people aged 18-25. We source, assess and train candidates in key transferable skills to ensure they’re ready to take on entry-level opportunities across a range of sectors.

We partner with organisations of any size, who interview and hire directly from our programme into internships, apprenticeships or permanent posts. We provide wraparound support, including training for your team, ongoing training and mentoring for young people and volunteering opportunities so that your people can get involved in delivering social impact.

What’s different about GoodWork?

We work with young people who have left education and are struggling to navigate the jobs market alone. None of our candidates are students, most aren’t graduates, but all are talented. They’re often underemployed, meaning they don’t qualify for much support. That’s where we come in.

We run assessment centres designed to identify potential and engagement above all else. We then train them to be ready for interview with you and support them throughout their placement. All our candidates come from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and many face additional barriers to work, such as institutional bias, a lack of inclusive opportunities for those from minority ethnic communities or accessibility for those with disabilities.

How does it work?

Once you’ve agreed to work with GoodWork, you’ll provide a job description for the role(s) you’d like to hire for via our next programme - launching in June 2024. We work with our network of local authorities, youth organisations and within our growing community of young people to source candidates for the programme with a broad range of ambitions and interests. We run our assessments to identify those with the potential to do well in your roles, then onboard them to our programme.

Participants undertake training with us over three weeks, covering work readiness, career navigation and essential transferable skills. We put forward candidates for you to interview, and they then start in their new role with you as soon as possible after you’ve made an offer. For our next cohort, roles will ideally start in July or August 2024. We continue to provide mentoring, additional training days and one-to-one support throughout their placements. We also continue to work with those who don’t secure a placement in the first round - because our commitment to the young people we work with doesn’t end until we’ve helped them transition to the right opportunity for them.

Does it work?

Yes. Over 80% of candidates we’ve placed have gone on to permanent roles with their host organisations. Here’s a case study with one of them, a year on from making their first GoodWork hire.
